Light Based NFC
Our novel Near Field Communication (NFC) system for smartphones based on Visible Light encodes the information from the screen lighting or flash light of the smartphone and utilizes a camera and color sensors as the receiver.
Recent improvements in smartphone screen resolution and camera capabilities allow for higher data transmission rates.
Compared to RF-based NFC, Li-Fi NFC,
- Resolves the privacy and security issues
- Eliminates electromagnetic interreference
- Operates in longer range of distance
- Provides higher bandwidth and speed
- Does not require additional devices
